Lules: at only 22 km from San Miguel

Located at only 22 km from San Miguel we reach to one of the most beautiful places we can visit, San Isidro de Lules. Before coming to Lules's city, we find the ruins of the Jesuitical Chapel in San Jose, which date back to the 17th century. It has been declared Historical Monument because it is a historical legacy of supreme importance for the people of Tucuman.
They consist in the old chapel and the convent founded by the Jesuits in 1670. In the convent, nowadays in ruins,we can find the bedrooms, the store, the workshops and the school where the Indians used to study. This is a very interesting place to visit becouse of its beautiful history.
Another place to visit are the Quebradas of Lules. This is one of the best places for relaxing in Tucuman. This “quebrada” opens among two big mountains where the Lules river passes. It is a great place to prepare bbqs and picnics and perhaps to swim in the waters of Lules river.
In Lules we have lots of good things to eat such as “tamales”, “humitas”, “empanadas” but one of the most famous things of this city is their orange juice called Citric, one of the most sold product in Tucuman. Strawberries are also very famous in this part of the province.
